Australian Red Cross Blood Service
21-10-2010
Some of our team recently did something special and went down to the Southern Community Church of Christ Hall in Cheltenham to give blood. In doing so they were able to help over 12 different patients and contribute to making up to 25 different products (including potentially life-saving immunisations for chicken pox, hepatitis B and tetanus). Click on the pictures below to view our giving team!

We did it again!

All About Blood
Did you know?
- 1 in 3 people will need blood?
- Only 1 in 30 people currently give blood?
If you, or one of your loved ones, have ever needed blood, you already know how important it is.
Many people are alive today because of Australia's generous and voluntary, unpaid blood donors who give blood each week to help those in need.
It's one of those things that we just expect to be there for us, but only a very small proportion of people donate.
People who give blood are united by their generosity and the desire to give something back to the community.

MAD Woman
M.a.d.woman is committed to encouraging, inspiring and enabling people to make a positive difference in the environment, community and to the lives of those who need support.
15-12-2010
On Wednesday December 15th our team went to Port Melbourne to assist m.a.d. woman in a special event, wrapping christmas gifts. These gifts were for hundreds of disadvantaged children supported by Open Family Australia. We also celebrated one of our team member's birthday, which she ever so happily decided to spend her night wrapping christmas gifts for those children doing it tough.

01-03-2011
We were thrilled to help m.a.d. woman by putting together handmade items for adults, children and animals impacted by recent weather issues in Victoria and Queensland. Care packs for disaster survivors are also being sent to Christchurch, New Zealand as a result of everyone's efforts on this night.

Special Olympics
About Us
Special Olympics is the not-for-profit organisation that transforms the lives of people with an intellectual disability through regular sports participation and competition. Despite some common misconceptions, Special Olympics is not one single event and it’s not just for elite athletes. Instead, our volunteers provide sports opportunities for all people with an intellectual disability, regardless of their skill level, and they do this every week of the year in communities right across Australia.
